Intramural Wrap Up

The 2013 had a solid showing this year in the Intramural Program. The Boy's hockey team finished first in the league and then narrowly missed advancing to the third round. The co-ed volleyball team had a fantastic playoff run! They won their intense quarter finals by one point and then creamed the 11s in straight sets. The team advanced to the final but came out short. Congrats to all the athletes! A shout out goes to Robin Callaghan for coming out to our volleyball games and being one of the only girls to come out! Be sure to get involved next year so we can become champions!

OAC Job Shadow Program

The Job Shadow program provides shadowing experiences and opportunities for all OAC students throughout the entire school year. Job Shadowing is a method of career exploration that allows you to view first hand what it's like to work a day in the life of someone working in a career field that interests you. To be able to 'follow in the footsteps' of a professional for the day is an excellent way to experience and 'try out' different career possibilities for yourself!

The Job Shadow team acts as a liaison between the student and the employer. Once the Job Shadow team member finds a suitable match, they connect them with the student interested in a shadow. This position isn't a paid position - it is part of the Peer Helper program (students helping students). There is a small honorarium each semester and it's a great opportunity to develop your communication and organization skills and network with employers - plus you get a great office right beside SFOAC.

If you are interested, please send me an email with your resume.
